Changes of scope during an Initial or Surveillance Audits
During an audit it is quite common for the auditor to change the scope of the audit due to extra processes being found which require inclusion or from a request from the client. Clients often request changes to their scopes during surveillance audits. The auditor on determining that a change is required should satisfy themselves that:
a) They have the necessary skills to continue the audit, based on evidence held at C.S.P. extra time for the audit is not required.
b) Should extra time be necessary the auditor should contact with C.S.P. For small changes the auditor shall make notes on the checklist and report and highlight this to C.S.P. The Certification Manager authorizing the certification shall review the change in scope. If the auditor had the necessary skills for the applicable NACI code and there was no additional time required this shall be accepted by the Certification Manager.
